Jared, The Mighty

He is such a good kid. He is really sensitive and tries to balance that with being strong. Lately, he's been worried about a whole host of things, tornados, fire, losing our home. He is becoming aware of the danger of the world and has it on his mind a lot. In some ways, as he approaches eight, his awareness is corrupting his innocence. In others, he is still just a little boy in a big world. He has a testimony, all his own and is preparing himself to be baptized. I feel like its really important that he stand on the strength of his own spiritual experiences and Dave and I have tried to be impassive with regard to his decision. He is often a powerful example to me of right and wrong. It is very black and white with him at this stage of his life and he often calls us out when we decide something is gray.
